Merry Christmas! - we got Power!

Most of the work has happened on the inside. there has been mounted 2 layers of Fermacell drywall/fiber boards on almost all ceiling and walls facing outside (the ones with styropor). It really is now looking really nice and clean inside.

the Fermacell product is awesome. It basically has the strength and fire protection as 2 layers of normal drywall.

The winter weather also shows us that even on December 23rd we will have plenty of sunlight coming into the house.

And speaking of sunlight! we also now are generating our own power! We got solar cells installed and hooked up to the grid! A least now we can reduce the electricity bill while we wait for being able to move in.

This year has really turned our life up side down. First our contractor went bankrupt, then we got a beautiful little daughter and finally my brother has put his knowledge and energy into helping us finish the house. Without him we would be lost!

Merry christmas and a Happy new year!

The Windows are now Installed!

We now have all windows and outdoor doors Installed! It really starts to look like a house!
We can now soon start to dry out all the moisture inside so the indoor plastering can be done.
We are still missing the top layer on the roof and a bit of the outdoor plastering, but it should be also be done soon if the weather stays reasonable!

Roof and outside plastering

It has been raining ALOT the last 4-5 weeks, which has made it hard to have progress on the outside of the house. But we finally have most of the plastering done, and most of the house now like nice and white.
The top isolation and button roof-cardboard are also on so no more rain will enter the house through the roofs.

Next up is the windows and the last part of the outdoor plastering before we can dry out the inside and start there...

Progress and a fustrating story...

It has been a long time since I have updated the house blog and there is a good reason why.
On May 1st. our contractor B&M went bankrupt, and we have have been through a long frustrating process of dealing with lawyers and people trying to guide us in all kinds of directions.

but with awesome help from my brother (which I can not thank enough) and our lawyer we are now over the worst part and finally seeing progress on the house. We have about 4-5 months delays, but we are now at 100% again working hard to close the house within the next couple of weeks.

I learnt a lot over the last many months and but cant help to feel that it is unfair that private persons have to go through so much frustration, risk, uncertainty and BS. One thing i can say to people the same things happens to: Get a lawyer, let them deal with all the communication and process.

HPH-Totalbyg with my Brother as anchor for it all is making sure we will get a great house!.

At the moment we are working on getting the outer plastering done. Note it is gray now but it will be white when all layers are done.

Second floor walls done...

The concrete has now been poured into all the main walls of the Second floor.
The window areas has still not been "cut" free. As the ISOBYG system is like LEGO, but only with one length of blocks (two heights 20 and 30 cm) you still need to "overlay" them and then cut the blocks after the concrete has set for a while.
